About Walter Camp
Walter Camp was a very important part in the creation of football.Walter Camp was born on April 17, 1859 and was born in New Haven, Connecticut; he is a big part of the game of football. He attended school at Yale University from 1876 until 1882. Camp was also a star football player at Yale. After attending college he went on to be Yale's athletic director, an author, chairman of New Haven's Clock Company, the director of Peck Bros, an advisory football coach at Yale from 1888 to 1914, and the chairman of the Yale Football Committee. Before Camp came along football was basically tackling the guy that had the ball. He changed the game by combining rugby and soccer together and added few rules and made the game what it is today. Walter Camp also had a hand in creating the NCAA, or National College Athletic Association.
